EVENT: LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC FESTIVAL (21st & 22nd MARCH 2014)

Disc-ussion: Liverpool is set to welcome its first Acoustic Festival this weekend.

On Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd March 2014, The Unity Theatre will focus its spotlight on the grassroots singer/songwriter circles in the city to encapsulate the true essence of music in a weekend of acoustic goodness. Serving a plausible nod to the artists who defy the need  of audio enhancements, the event is set to be an honest and welcoming mix of seminars, workshops and performances.

Line-UP

Fri 21st:    Robert Vincent // Ewan McLennan // Anna Corcoran // Shannen Bamford //
(6pm-11pm)  Thom Morecroft // Andy Pink   ++ Workshops, Seminars, Q&A's, Record Fairs.

Sat 22nd:  Thomas McConnell // Megan Thomas // Just By Chance // Katreena Bowell //

Sat 22nd:  Ian McNabb // Thomas J Speight // TJ & Murphy // Sophia Ben-Yousef //

Must See:

Sophia Ben-Yousef: One of Liverpool's quickest rising talents, Sophia has a distinctive mature sound that far surpasses the level of aptitude you could expect from a young star. Drawing on influences including Emeli Sandé and Alicia Keys, her self-written lyrics are draped in emotion and told with a striking, soulful sentiment.

Thomas J Speight: Having been on the same bill as Ed Sheeran, Jake Bugg and Mumford & Sons, supported Travis and shared a label with Noah and The Whale, Thomas has already introduced himself to the folk pop audience. With a rich and adhering voice he's set to establish himself among those heavyweights with his forthcoming debut album.

Liverpool Acoustic Festival is an audacious attempt to highlight a naturally shy scene, whilst it may not go down a storm, it will transform The Unity Theatre into a music haven.
